Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT)

CBT is based on the principles that your thoughts (cognitions), feelings and actions (behaviours) are all interrelated. The goal of CBT is to change your thoughts about something specific, which changes how you feel about it and then you change the behaviour associated with that event or experience.

What we think and do affects the way we feel.

CBT is often considered the “gold standard”, is well-researched and proven to be highly effective. Best of all, it gives you immediate ways to deal with stressful situations, without having to spend lengthy periods of time tracking the source of your discomfort. CBT is effective for all ages, cultures and education levels.

Psychodynamic Approaches

All trauma is stored memory from past events, usually childhood experiences. Understanding where your discomfort comes from is key in knowing how to heal from your past. Diving deep into your intergenerational family history, your childhood experiences and helping you to reprogram is essential in breaking cycles of pain. You will engage in discussions, create genograms to understand family and inter-generational contributing factors and try to connect how your past is impacting your present. The best part? You can heal from your past.
