Individual Therapy

Individual counselling meets you where you are in your healing journey. Building trust with the clinician takes time and your goals will be fully understood, as well as your expectations and concerns. The clinician will take tome to understand if you are looking to dig into your past to better understand your origin story and where your wounds might be coming from. If you prefer to stay in the present and learn how to interrupt negative thoughts and get back into motion without exposing your past, we will help reframe your assumptions and support changing behaviour with what we have in front of us. The bottom line is this: you are always in charge of your own healing journey and we will walk beside you as you figure it out.

Couples Counselling

Couples counselling follows a structure that allows for both sessions together and a few intentional individual sessions that align with the couples goals. The structure is an initial intake session where your clinician will begin to understand your presenting issues and get a sense of you as a couple. This is followed by two individual sessions to better understand your origin stories and your childhood. When we return to a group setting, your therapist will explain some of the patterns they see that might be getting in your way; attachment issues, toxic cycles, reactions and perceptions and triggers. Once we identify where we might be struggling, a treatment plan will be presented with conflict resolution tools and communication strategies. Couples counselling is about building resilience through compassion and friendship. We follow a blend of Gottman Couples Therapy, Emotionally Focussed Couples Therapy and Attachment modalities.
